Pierre Pitt Arens, The former Luxembourg banker surprised everyone by becoming the CEO of the controversial company OneCoin, suspected of applying the fraudulent Ponzi model. The aforementioned denies the allegations and prefers to focus on the growth potential of a technology (cryptocurrency) that is not yet recognized.

This is called a challenge, a bet that may seem a little crazy. Pitt Arens, 55, who also is a general manager of Banque Invik in Luxembourg, director of corporate finance at ING and co-director of corporate finance at Bil, is now the CEO of OneCoin, the area of ​​cryptocurrencies.

Pitt Arens started on this new job position in March this year, but was officially announced last weekend at an event organized by the OneLife group, founded by a Bulgarian entrepreneur, Ruja Ignatova (the group has no relationship with the life insurance company of Luxembourg with the same name). OneCoin, a company with about 200 employees, is headquartered in Dubai, but the main technical infrastructure is located in Bulgaria, the native country of Ignatova.

But OneCoin is also, and above all, a controversial society that, for a whole year, has had to face numerous suspicions widely spread on the Internet, accused of being nothing more than a Ponzi-type fraud (a fraudulent financial arrangement consisting in remunerating the investments of the existing clients with funds provided by new clients, a model for which Bernard Madoff was sentenced to 150 years in prison in the United States).

“You should know that I had studied the project thoroughly for almost four months,” says Pitt Arens in Paperjam.lu. “OneCoin has simply been a victim of a vast and massive denigration campaign, very well prepared and organized mainly from Europe. We have identified the sources of these attacks, and legal proceedings are underway. For now, OneCoin has not been officially charged or convicted of any crime in any market in the world”.

This doesn’t prevent some authorities from being very suspicious. On 17 April, BaFin (a German financial sector supervisory authority) demanded the definitive cessation of OneCoin’s activities in Germany.

“I am a responsible parent, I would never have taken a risk of associating with an organization that was illegal or fraudulent,” argues Arens, who prefers to focus more on the growth potential of the cryptocurrency.

Thus, he highlights the company’s policy “that controls and audits all those who want to do business with us through a procedure called KYC (know your client) based on our own Blockchain. In each transaction, the sender and receiver are fully identified. There is no place for those who want to make transactions anonymously “.

The company OneCoin, which is not subject to the control by regulatory authorities, specializes in selling online educational materials in order to popularize the use of cryptocurrencies. Various educational packages contain “tokens”, which must then be converted into digital money used for the purchase of services or goods.

“At the moment, we have 3.3 million currency holders, while the company has only been active for two years. We expect to reach 5 million in a year. At the same, time we have already more than 30,000 merchants registered on our online trading platform DealShaker and we are aiming to attract 100,000 more by the end of the year. We have just signed a contract with a major online travel company that will soon go public”.

Try to ask yourself these questions and find out what your answers are. You may gain a new attitude to life.

 

You know that life is short: Why do you do things that you don’t like? Why don’t you do those many other things you really like?

Do you think that if life were shorter (for example, the average life expectancy rate was lower than it is now), would you have lived differently?

Do you do what you want or do you just settle for whatever is happening to you?

Has there been anything you called madness, but later saw that it was useful or brilliant?

Is there anything that prevents you from doing what you want?

Think about today: If five years later you’re asked about what you did today, do you think you will remember? Will it be a good memory?

Do you think this day is like others or can you make it special?

If you know that you learn from mistakes, why do you keep avoiding them?

What do you prefer: to work less or to work more on something you love?

When was the last time you got excited about an idea you believed in?

Are you the kind of person you would like to have as a friend?

Do you feel that you have had a complete control of the course of your life?

What would you do differently, if you were not afraid of the opinions of others?

What is that really makes you feel that you live and not just exist?

 

If some of the answers to the questions above made you sad or you’re disappointed in some way with the result, simply add another question “What can I do to change it?” And try hard to find an answer to it.

And I’ll pose one more question to you.

First, let’s make it clear: everything in this life can be learned to a greater or smaller extent. And as for network marketing, one of its best features is that everyone can do it. It requires a strong will and total conviction that you want to learn things and improve to become the type of professional you want to be. Anyone with this determination will achieve it.

But, there are people who find it easier or whose adaptation process is shorter or less suffering. People who were born for this, so they were looking for this industry even before they knew it existed.

Some of these features will help you in your preparation and development as a networker.

You have experience in sales or you like them, or you don’t have any experience!

Many young professionals are increasingly turning to this industry after finishing school, especially because the labour market has been a global disaster in recent years. These young people also bring different ways of thinking, an entrepreneurial spirit and they are more likely to look for alternatives and discover new things.

But when you change from a salaried employee to a networker, it can sometimes be more difficult, so a complete change of mentality is necessary.

If you have sales experience and you’re good at it, it’s an important advantage, although it was in a different industry and in other conditions. Likewise, if you have experience in jobs with a social component, working with the customer, you already have a large part of the way travelled.

You learn easily and even like learning new things.

As a kid, you liked puzzles, and you don’t have problems in getting yourself into a new project, because you know that you will adapt. In the past, you tried very different jobs, because you had to earn money in some way and you decided to learn everything necessary to get it right.

That means that you have willingness for constant personal development, you adapt quickly to any changes and you won’t panic when facing problems and overcoming challenges… This type of intelligence has little to do with intellectual ratios and much more with the attitude with which we face things.

You are a social and collaborative person.

You like spending time with other people, work as a team and you are happy to do something good for others or make someone smile. But that sociability and that warmth won’t stop you from telling someone when they should change something, because you know that otherwise you’ll harm them.

And what qualities are going to harm you?

You must understand very well that I don’t mean that any of these qualities will prevent you from creating your network marketing business. What I do say is that, if you have any of them, you must work hard on your self improvement. Mainly because these traits are not good for you and for the quality of your life. But in addition, because it will be very difficult for you to progress until you get rid of them and become a better version of yourself.

Find, identify and get rid of these traits:

A too big ego. Don’t worry, in this business, we all know a leader who has had to overcome this, and he succeeded. A big ego is what prevents you from correcting your mistakes, because you think your opinion is always correct and your way of doing things is always right. Although the results tell you otherwise.

Likewise, you must prevent the ego from growing too much with your success. You have done it well, but it doesn’t make you superior to anyone, and surely, there are many more people involved in your success, so don’t forget them.

The tendency to make excuses. When something is not going well… you find an excuse. No, it’s over, from now on. There are no let-up excuses, if you know the source of a problem, then solve it. If you believe that everything in life is out of your control, then you won’t be able to move forward. Take responsibility, forget the excuses and start looking for solutions.

Sudden mood swings. I understand that not everyone has good control of their emotions. It may be because of stress or because of a medical condition. However, you must be aware that you have to learn to better control your mood and your reaction to challenges and other people. Taking care of your physical and mental health is essential, with healthy daily habits. But, in addition, you can help yourself have a good emotional balance and a positive attitude with more personal development.

Health, happiness and success are completely intertwined in our lives. By boosting some areas of your daily life, you will reinforce others as well. So, on your way to success, never forget to do it in a healthy way, in a positive way…

It is as simple as to pick up habits so as to make you healthier, happier and more productive… And in general, more successful.

  • Always eat breakfast and avoid bingeing or snacking on unhealthy things. Begin the morning with energy and with a good balance.
  • Eat healthier, your body and your mind will thank you. There are too many toxic things we eat that make us feel more tired, even though you think they are richer.
  • Drink more water. Are you able to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day? More hydration also means more vitality and more concentration.
  • Laugh whenever you can and smile at others.
  • Seize the day from early in the morning and go for a walk with the first light in the street. It is a natural and healthy way to “charge the batteries”.
  • Try new things; get out of your comfort zone more often.
  • You are never really too busy so as not to be able to stop to eat something healthy, to pay attention to your loved ones or to talk to someone who needs your help.
  • Stop comparing yourself with others. You are not like anyone else, and no one else is like you.
  • Be organized and tidy. Well-organized spaces help clear your mind, and being able to find something in a few seconds helps save time.
  • Sleep well: not too much, not too little. And learn to wake up naturally, without an alarm clock, after a few regular hours of sleep. It will take you much less to be active and clear every day once you get it right.
  • Worry less about the things you cannot fix, and even less about the things you can fix, just fix them.
  • Try to listen more and never interrupt others.
  • There are times when you have to turn off the phone.
  • And enjoy more small moments and daily joys.
  • Treat yourself to something you like once in a while, give yourself a present at special moments.
  • Think positive and speak positive.
  • Don’t be cruel to others, nor judge them.
  • Do something for your goal every day, and the earlier you do the most important things or the hardest, the better.
  • And above all, never stop dreaming.

I’m telling you this whether you are learning or are about to teach someone else: there is no better way to teach than to encourage action.

The first phase is when you explain, the second when you show… but the one that really will get deep into people is when they have to put it into practice themselves.

So, if you are taking your first steps in network marketing, you are probably trying to gather all the possible information. You will be reading blogs, like this one, and you will be watching videos, attending talks, trainings…

And you know? You’re doing it right. I’m not going to tell you not get education or more information, you have to do it. You have to read a lot, you have to work on both knowledge and mental state, and you have to learn to absorb and assimilate new concepts, because you must know that to run this business you have to leave behind all those ideas you took in to prepare yourself as a salaried employee.

That is all very well.

But you must be willing to understand and accept that when you get to the street and put into practice what you have learned in theory, you will feel that you didn’t understand anything.

Do not worry, it’s normal … and it’s not exactly like that.

Do you know how little children spend time before learning how to handle their hands or feet? And they train every minute of the day. They know that they want to go from one point to another… They know how one walks… one foot after another … but it’s not until they have fallen several times that they succeed.

It’s a bit what happens when you start in network marketing. You know what you have to do, in theory… But there are things you will not be able to handle until you put it into practice. It may be your non-verbal language, or it may be that you lack confidence. There can be a thousand things and all of them are corrected after having seen it live.

And it’s fine, it’s natural.

Allow yourself with no more reprimand than to take note of what has happened to learn from it, fall and stumble, like a child who begins to walk and hasn’t yet developed the strength of his legs. For that little boy, the only way to develop that strength is to force himself to try again, to fall over and try again.

If it’s so simple for all of us when we are so small and apparently so fragile… Why is it hard for us to see it when we grow up? None of us could walk without that stubbornness and determination. If we had just sat on the floor, crying because we haven’t been able to make the full run through the hall.

There is no teacher like experience, if we are completely open to learning from it.

Go out, get it wrong and try again.

For such a social profession, where the personal connections we make are fundamental to the development of the business, it is true that you may find it somehow difficult to follow up with all your contacts.

But like everything else, the trick is in the habit. None of us have such a good memory for this, so a little organization and methodology is what will help you get out of the chaos and remember people, appointments or dates.

Use your phone as a “personal assistant”

We have all learned the trick of the card, but not everyone has it and it may not be enough. However, your mobile phone has a lot of features that will help you keep track with that person you’ve just met.

You can add notes to your phone’s contact’s entry, add an e-mail and some useful information. You can also set an alarm to remind you to call back or arrange a meeting.

A paper diary so you don’t forget anything.

In addition to everything you can do on your phone, you could use a diary where to organize contacts, appointments, and where to have the planning for the next day and several days ahead. Note down when you spoke to that person last, for example, and what you did.

There are a thousand ways to keep a diary, but the important thing is that you pay attention to details, because when you have 10 or 20 different conversations a day and no matter how much effort you make to remember everything, sometimes you simply cannot trust your memory. After a busy day and you can get confusing something.

It is just a matter of habit, and over time, it will become much easier.

Calling again.

A hard part of following up is the time when you have to get back in touch with people who were not sure but who you think could sign up.

Of course, this is not something that many people like: you know that many of the answers will be negative or much worse: they tell you that they haven’t been able to look at it because they were busy but they will in three or four days, definitely. A “no” is much better because at least neither is wasting their time…

But, inevitably, this is something you have to do, because there will also be positive answers. It’s part of the process and you learn to identify the “I don’t know, maybe later”, which really means “it’s a no, but I find it hard to say it straight away.”

Put your diary and notes in front of you on the desk, grab a pencil or a pen and start calling. Use whatever news you have about the product or any story you have collected in the last event you took part in. It might help that person to look at it differently, something that might interest them in addition to what they already know. Give them something else besides that typical call of “well, I was wondering if you’ve already decided something.” Don’t just ask, but get excited, enthusiastic, encourage them.

You will see that with time and a little practice, this part becomes much easier and more enjoyable
